Quarantine Home Delivery: Sun Basket ASMR + Review

I hope you’re all hanging in there as we enter a full month of shelter-in-place. My mood has been fluctuating drastically with each day, one point I’ll feel completely at ease with being confined (and safe) inside my own apartment, other times I’ll be easily irritable and feel suffocated. It’s easy to let your emotions get the best of you , trust me, inside my dinky NYC apartment, but let’s all do our part and stay safe to not overwhelm our hospitals and risk getting exposed.

With everyone spending more time indoors, I’m sure everyone is cooking and baking a lot. I wanted to share my recent experience with Sun Basket and how it will make quarantine cooking so much easier. Ditch the grocery visits and the overwhelming meal prep and check out why Sun Basket is the ideal delivery of choice.

To use Sun Basket, just hop onto their website and choose from the variety of meal plans available: pescatarian, low carb, keto, paleo, the list goes on. I decided on the Chef’s Choice, and they sent me three recipes + ingredients to try:

In these times, grocery store runs can be such an overwhelming state of panic, canned goods are flying off the shelves, and oftentimes you end up stocking up on things you don’t really need. How does one even manage a grocery list during a pandemic? Sun Basket makes it easy to make meals without cluttering your fridge / storage space. If you had seen my refrigerator two weeks ago, it was a never-ending game of Tetris.

The recipes required a bit of work, but well worth it. We cooked up a familiar dish like the Stir Fry Veggies + Chicken and made an entire ASMR video on youtube, check it out here. My absolute favorite was the Black Bean Tostadas with Quick Pickles and Soft-Cooked Eggs, the tostadas were crispy + fresh, and I loved the texture and pop of color from the watermelon radishes. Learning to cook with new ingredients can bring a whole new meaning to a dish and I’m excited to recreate this recipe in the future. The sausage from the Bangers and Mash was fantastically juicy with just the right amount of spice to not leave you crying. I would 100% do this again!

It was a pretty seamless process from start to finish. I loved that the packaging is easy to recycle too. What are other food delivery services people are using these days, any worth checking out?
